I have been telling myself for a while that Tsum Tsums will be a slippery slope for me if I cave in and start going all out. I’ve been exerting the utmost self control when I see them enter the Disney Store on Tsum Tsum Tuesday’s (the first Tuesday of each month) and I’ve managed to only buy some favorites thus far (the Christmas collection, Minnie, Peter Pan & Hook) but trust me when I say that the struggle is real. Enter, my downfall. Star Wars Tsum Tsums guys! STAR WARS! TSUM TSUMS! I have just been waiting for the day that this collection would be released and I’m super hoping this won’t be some type of gateway for me but GUH I need so many of them. ESPECIALLY Han and Leia. And Boba Fett. And R2. And Chewy. These beautiful little bb’s come out on February 16th.

This week on the second episode of Fangasm, the gang and I made some videos to promote Stan Lee’s Comikaze for our lovely boss Regina. After days of planning and filming our videos, we entered the Comikaze boardroom to submit our finished product. My personal favorite video was our reenactment of the chest burster scene in Alien, where we pasted Stan Lee’s head on an alien body and had him pop out of Sal’s chest and talk about the convention. Our tagline was “Stan Lee’s Comikaze, where no one can hear you scream…” Then we headed out to a club for some unconventional fun and Regina’s best friend and supermodel Adrianne Curry came to our house to be a guest on our podcast.
And now for the fun part, the fashion part! Here are some of my favorite outfits from the episode and where you can find them!
First up, I wore my ‘I Am R2D2’ tunic tank from We Love Fine. You can buy one online here!
Then when it came time to plan out my questions for Adrianne Curry, I opted to wear my ‘Ring of Fire Border’ skirt from Etsy seller Go Follow Rabbits.
Then there’s this which is one of my favorite t-shirts I currently own. It;s a mash up of Sailor Moon/Luna and Fiona/Cake. It’s SO soft and the design is just perfect. I’ve emailed the company to see if it’s still available, but in the meantime, there’s this adorable Game of Thrones/Pokemon tee that I also own and adore.
Then for the actual podcast, I wore these Star Wars montage leggings by Black Milk Clothing. They feature my future husband, Han Solo, both droids, Leia, Emperor Palpatine, Chewy, Luke, and Yoda. They’re part of Black Milk’s Star Wars collection that’s officially licensed from Lucasfilm. You can pick em up here!
Several days ago on Twitter, I asked everyone if they could choose a place, real or imagined, and live there, where it would be. I was met with an overwhelming number of responses that continued throughout the day and I felt so inspired by everyone’s differing opinions that I decided to compile a list of my own fictional places I would love to move to. The truth is that given the opportunity to move, I would choose to stay where I am, but it’s still fun to daydream! I would create a list of real places too, but as New York is the only real place I would like to live in, the list would be quite short. I’m sure no one will find it surprising that two of the five places I chose are fictional version of New York =^.^=
– Sugar Rush is one of the newest imaginary places that I fell in love with while seeing Wreck-It Ralph last weekend
. This simulated land is the setting for a video game and it was built completely out of sweets. Everyone who resides in Sugar Rush is a type of candy, or they incorporate candy into their signature looks (ie Vanellope’s sweet hair accessories). Sugar Rush is like Candyland, only more pink, and ruled as a democracy.
– Fabletown is the first alternate NYC that I would like to reside in. But just to be clear, I would be a Fable and not a mundy. More specifically, I would probably be Cinderella
, better known to the Fables as Cindy. I would wander around Bullfinch street, have an even vaster shoe collection than I have now, and venture out into the real New York City anytime my heart desired. And I’d get to go on secret missions for Bigby! (I couldn’t find a great image of Fabletown, so the image above is one of my favorite Fables covers for issue #118)
Hogwarts – Hogwarts is a gorgeous castle with an enormous library burgeoning with tons of magical books that I have yet to read. I’d love to spend hours reading Hogwarts, A History while drinking a frosty butterbeer in the common room, or strolling around the castle until whatever mischief I would inevitably get myself into is managed. Plus, the Great Hall is charming during Halloween and Christmas<3
Star Wars Universe – In my mind, this could only be the perfect scenario: Traveling through the galaxy with C3PO and R2D2 accompanying Han Solo and I on the Millennium Falcon (my favorite spacecraft)! We’d stop on the Death Star and have run-ins with Vader and some Stormtroopers and everything would be stellar. Knowing me, I would have lightsaber fights galore (mine would be purple like Mara Jade’s). The force is strong with my love of Star Wars and space.
Superhero Inhabited NYC – If my city was inhabited with superheroes my dreams would be a reality. In a world where Spider-Man, Batman, the Fantastic Four, and Dick Grayson could be seen at a any moment walking through NYC, I would be an even happier girl. I would be best friends with Stephanie Brown, and I would definitely be there to fill the Gwen Stacy sized void in Spider-Man’s heart. There would also be so many other heroes visiting their NY friends all of the time and I’d be surrounded by everything I love most. The only downside would be the many villains the city would attract, but something tells me there would be enough good guys to prevail that it wouldn’t be a major issue.
This past August I was lucky enough to be invited to attend a convention that I have always dreamed about experiencing firsthand, Star Wars Celebration. I was asked to help film for FanGirl TV
, a new webseries that focuses on fangirls who love all things geeky. The convention was being held in Orlando, Florida, which is also the home to my lovely blog partner Kristin Fowler
, so the decision to accept was a very simple one to make. After a lengthy drive down to Florida, the guys I traveled with (Gary, Brandon & Dave) and I finally arrived and began filming. I was in charge of interviewing the girls we selected to film including Ashley Eckstein
, the voice of Ahsoka Tano on Star Wars: The Clone Wars
, and the brains behind one of my favorite clothing companies, Her Universe. Kristin and I often gush about Ashley’s designs on our site On Wednesdays We Wear Pink
. I was so overcome with excitement about having the opportunity to interview Ashley, that I completely forgot to be nervous. And once we started chatting, I quickly realized there was never any need to be worried after all because Ashley was nicer than I could’ve ever imagined! She is very genuine and friendly and you can easily tell how much she cares about her fans and the girls wearing her line. Which is one of the reasons Ashley decided to host a photo shoot at Star Wars Celebration featuring the real girls who wear her clothes as the models. The photo shoot was a lot of fun and you can see the pics on the Her Universe Facebook page
As a long time Her Universe fangirl, I was so happy to have been part of the photo shoot. The only challenging part was deciding which piece to wear! I currently own all of the Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who
, and the majority of Star Wars
clothing Her Universe sells, but seeing as how this was a Star Wars
convention, I was able to rule out BSG and DW. You would think that would make choosing simpler, but believe me it was no easy task. (And if you don’t believe me, you can see for yourself by checking out the extensive merchandise selection in Her Universe’
s online shop). In fact, for the duration of our car ride to Florida, pretty much all I talked about was how the Her Universe booth had to be our first stop because I was dying to obtain the limited edition R2D2 charm, and the Mara Jade t-shirt (both of which I purchased, along with the Rebel and Imperial tanks and Ahsoka tunic). After careful deliberation, I decided to wear the Star Wars Calavera Vader scoop tee with a Star Wars
miniskirt and hair bow that I made myself from fabric patterned with 70’s Star Wars
comics. I had such a great time getting ready and Ashley made the photo shoot super fun. You can also watch the video of Ashley taken by my coworkers at FanGirl TV. It’s interspersed with clips of me modeling during the photo shoot!
And just for fun, here are some of my other favorite photos from Star Wars Celebration:
