Hi, my name is Kristin and I have a book buying problem. Especially when said books are extremely discounted. Thanks Book Outlet! I did so well in November, only purchasing about 10 books, and then Black Friday happened and that number quadrupled.
Happy biggest shopping day of the year! Ever since I started college I’ve been learning about how Black Friday was named as such since it was the one day of the year that predicts if the store will make their sales goals. Retailers put a wide assortment of merchandise on sale in the hopes that it will attract potential customers and their profit statement will be in the “black” instead of the “red.” With that being said, buying trends have changed VASTLY since online shopping became a thing and many businesses aren’t depending on this one day anymore. In fact, with some exceptions, customers can usually find better sales closer to the holiday season than they can on Black Friday. It’s become more psychological that customers expect Black Friday to be the best deal so that’s usually when they’ll take the plunge on big ticket items. In all my years I have never lined up over night and waited in the cold to buy something but these are the things I *might* do it for if there were a good enough deal!
Canon Rebel DSLR Camera – Ever since I’ve begun blogging, I’ve gotten more and more into photography. I just love it! My entire mindset has changed to the point where every time I go to take a new photo I first think about what I can do to make it the best possible photo it can be (ie., move the object/person to a location with better lighting, consider the background, etc.). I’ve been working with my iPhone for quite some time now and the quality of my photos has improved SO much over the years but I love to keep improving. I look at the photos from some of my first blog posts and just CRINGE.
Batman: The Complete Television Series Limited Edition Blu-Ray – I am burning and pining for this limited edition Batman 66 television series blu-ray. I skipped out on preordering a copy because 1) it’s so darn expensive and 2) I’ve been crossing my fingers for a Black Friday miracle. The series is goofy and all of the characters are so perfect. I feel like I really need this blu-ray set in my life.
Pink KitchenAid Mixer – This pink KitchenAid mixer has been on my wish list for YEARS. I have always been kind of OBSESSED with the idea of owning and using this beautiful beautiful baking device in a kitchen of my own. When I lived with my parents I didn’t have enough space to own one, but now that I’m on my own and have even less space, I feel like I would be able to clear a corner to make this dream come true. Obviously I need a pink one and I don’t think that needs to be explained!
Dyson Pink Vacuum – I’m still not completely sure how I feel about knowing that I’ve been lusting after a vacuum but alas, I visit it every time I go to Target because holy heck it is a beautiful cleaning device. I can just picture myself using it to clean my apartment with a bandana in my hair like those retro-y images. Also, it’s PINK!
Hot Toys Loki (The Avengers) – This is one collectible that keeps getting pricier and pricier so even wishing for a Black Friday sale on this discontinued piece of perfection is very outlandish. He just looks so lifelike! And what girl wouldn’t want a little Tom Hiddleston causing a little mischief in their bedroom? His likeness is so good that it scares my friend Dan and he tried to dissuade me from wanting Loki by saying that he would probably Toy Story around my room when I’m not home. OBVIOUSLY this made me want him even more!
