Hello everybody, I’m Kristin!  I couldn’t be more pleased that of all the places to visit on the internet, you somehow ended up on my humble little blog.  If you’re new here you’ll quickly learn that I am an easily excitable fangirl (you’ll soon note all of the exclamation points!) with a plethora of passions.  It’s VERY rare that anyone will beat me to a news story about a fandom I’m actively involved in but it doesn’t stop my friends from trying!  I’m a Ravenclaw (confirmed when Pottermore first launched) and I completely agree with C.S. Lewis’s statement that I can never find a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.  I read like I’m running out of time (not so subtle nod to Hamilton).

Since I was a little girl, I’ve loved playing dress up which probably played a huge role in my decision to obtain my college education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.  The first fashion show I ever helped with was the Star Wars: Dressing a Galaxy show during the fall Fashion Week of 2005 and it was one of the most stellar experiences of my life!  My second favorite place (besides NYC) is Orlando, FL because of Disney World and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  People have compared me to a Disney Princess on more than one occasion which makes me feel all warm inside.  I wish I could visit the parks more often!

Since college I’ve done a number of unconventional things such as interning for Seventeen Magazine, co-starring on the tv show Fangasm on Syfy which allowed me to pitch an original comic idea to Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee himself (it also resulted in a mention on Joel McHale’s The Soup, a surreal fact that I am still having trouble processing), YouTubing for several comics channels including Midtown Comics and BookTubing on my own channel.  I’ve connected with people from all over the country through mutual love of fictional characters and I’ve been lucky enough to attend conventions all over the U.S. where I’ve met some of those people IRL!

I have a pretty serious sweet tooth (especially for ice cream, cupcakes and macarons) and there is no appliance I love more than my pastel pink KitchenAid mixer.  Although my Canon Rebel T5i is a top contender and gets more use.  If my camera were pink, it would be no contest.  I also love visiting Planetariums, reading and listening to everything Neil Gaiman related, spending hours browsing the stacks at The Strand bookstore (which I loved even before it was the place I got engaged to the love my life, Andrew) and collecting, collecting, collecting.  Some of my biggest collections include my overwhelmingly large library of books and films, Funko pop figures, Disney paraphenalia, DC Bombshell statues, anything Peter Pan, and adorably packaged cosmetics. And lastly, I am one of those people who thinks that Christmas cannot come early enough.  I start celebrating on July 24th (the day after my birthday) and I like for the season to last as long as humanly possible.  Halloween is great but I would definitely be willing to overlook Thanksgiving in favor of a longer Christmas season.

So, that’s pretty much me in a very condensed nusthell.  I hope you enjoy it here and I hope to see you again in the future!

Since I began blogging on in 2012, my site has mega evolved into what it is today. exists to promote positivity in the geek community, share experiences relating to my core fandoms, review books, movies, comics, manga, games, food and broadway plays, interact with other super awesome geeks about our passions, and to encourage others to do the same!
