Last week, Kat Von D released photos of her new Mi Vida Loca Remix eyeshadow palette on instagram and it’s beautiful! It has every color of the rainbow, 24 highly pigmented shades in all. Kat’s inspiration was to “create a sentimental esthetic to vinyl records.” The palette slides in and out of a sleeve which depicts Kat’s artwork and it will be available at Sephora for Holiday 2015. I usually tend to stick to neutral eyeshadows (like the Urban Decay Naked palettes), but I love having the option of color for when the mood strikes. Considering I just cleaned out my makeup drawer and junked all the MAC eyeshadows I’ve been hoarding since high school, I’m in the market for new bursts of color!
I’m posting this a day late, but here are all the exclusives I would be devoting my precious time to collecting if I were attending SDCC this year. I found out about my favorite exclusive, the glitter Darth Vader coin purse, after seeing Le Fancy Geek’s Wish List and I knew I had to add it to mine! I’m also really loving the Her Universe Agent Carter tee. I loved that tv series so much and it holds a special place for me since it’s really what got me into YouTubing<3 I’m also obsessed with the Serenity Leaf on the Wind necklace by Quantum Mechanix. Talk about the perfect accessory! Other favorites include plush direwolves & a Game of Thrones crown, a Jem & the Holograms doll and Regina & Supergirl vinyl figures! What’re you hoping to get your hands on this year?
I’ve never been a big blush wearer but the new Fall 2015 collection from Too Faced just might convert me! The collection description reads “Flush all day and night with the blush of true love.” There are six shades in total and Too Faced promises that they’ll last up to 16 hours. Plus, the packaging reminds me of Polly Pocket! Too Faced quickly became my current favorite cosmetics company after I fell in love with their carousel holiday collection and their Better than Sex mascara. They really drew me in with all of the amazing packaging of their products and they’ve turned me into a repeat buyer because I know firsthand that anything they manufacture will be high quality. You can already purchase the Love Flush blushes for $26 each on the Too Faced website!
On July 9th, just a few short days away, MAC cosmetics will be releasing a glorious line of lipstick as part of their newest collab with fashion designer Giambattista Valli. The line includes 5 lipsticks in matte shades and one high gloss companion which will help you transition your lip color from day to night. All of the hues Valli chose were inspired by fabric swatches from the Valli vault and they represent his most well known aesthetics: floral hues and textures. I am completely in love with the packaging of the lipsticks and I love how each case perfectly matches the shade inside. I definitely have my sights set on four out of five of the new colors!
I really love pineapples. They’re definitely up there with strawberries and watermelon as one of the most attractive summer fruits so it’s no surprise that Kate Spade decided to create a mini collection based on the refreshing snack. I couldn’t resist the super cute necklace, and I’m also eyeing the oversize pineapple tote because it would basically be the most perfect beach bag of all time. If you’re into more subtle summer accessories, there’s a great pair of pineapple studs, a wallet and an iPhone case! You can purchase anything in the pineapple collection on the Kate Spade website or in store. Prices range from $32-$348.

I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay’s Naked palettes but particularly Naked 1 and Naked 3 because bronze and rose golds work the best for my skin tone. They’re the perfect shades of eyeshadow for daywear and for blending with darker colors at night, but sometimes a girl just wants to rock a smoky eye. When I was browsing through instagram yesterday I saw that Urban Decay has just announced a new eye palette to be released on July 8th of this year called the Naked Smoky palette and OMG do I need it. I love the range of colors offered which includes 9 new shades and 3 shades that are exclusive to the palette. The way that the shades are grouped (darkest in the middle and lightest on the outsides) is exactly the way you would apply it for your desired result, plus there’s a double ended brush which will be fantastic for blending and smudging the shades! I also must note that the packaging is so gorgeous!
Melissa Grey and I have teamed up again to bring you some DIY nail art for one of our favorite books of 2015, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas! ACOTAR is a fairytale retelling of Beauty and the Beast mixed with Tamlin (which is even the lead male characters name). You can read my full review for A Court of Thorns and Roses here. I am one of those people that is totally guilty of judging books by their covers so before I even had an inkling of the plot synopsis, I knew I needed ACOTAR because 1) Sarah J. Maas is AMAZING and I am obsessed with her Throne of Glass series and 2) the cover of ACOTAR is absolutely GORGEOUS. If you follow Melissa and I’s tutorial, please tweet us photos of your nails because we would love to see them!
A couple of weeks ago I heard about Jenny Han’s bow challenge to celebrate the upcoming release of P.S. I Still Love You and I knew I had to be a part of it! I LOVED the first book in her duology To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (which I received for Christmas from my amazing Bookish Secret Santa Michelle!). I immediately had a vision in my mind of what I wanted my photo to look like and it helped that a couple of months prior I had ordered the PERFECT bow for such a situation. When I got home from work I styled my bun, placed my bow, and grabbed my beloved copy of the book. Luckily Andrew was such a good sport about taking multiple photos until I was pleased with the result (let’s just say there were roughly 60 photos that I didn’t use… yeah). But clearly, it was worth it! I can’t wait to receive my bow from Jenny Han and sport it around NYC this summer. I also CANNOT wait to start reading the second half of this story… and everything else Jenny Han has ever written. I usually never win stuff like this so I am too excited not to share it here!
And a week later when I logged onto instagram and @simonteen had announced me as a winner!
Last night when I logged into instagram I was met with a wonderful surprise! One of my favorite artists, pr1ps, drew a sketch of me and I love it to pieces! She drew me in a Spider-Man tank top and I’m accessorized with Sailor Moon earrings and a pearl necklace. It’s just so perfect<3 I immediately updated numerous social media icons of mine because I’m so excited / flattered!
Spring is in the air! Which means my mind is on shopping for warmer weather wear. Not because I really NEED anything else, but honestly, who doesn’t love shopping for a fresh new season? Since I’m taking part in No Spend April and I’m not actually allowed to order any of these things just yet, I figured the next best thing to do is to post some potential outfits on my blog so I can admire them until this tortuous month is finally over. You can click the link below each collage to view it on Polyvore and find the exact links to purchase anything pictured. If you do choose to buy anything, please let me know in the comments so I can live vicariously through you until this month ends! (P.S. I am now addicted to Polyvore!)
