NaNoWriMo Plans + Currently Writing Candles

Every single year when November strikes, a little thing called NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month takes the internet by storm.  I think most people are familiar with the concept but just in case you aren’t, the goal is to write the first draft of a novel in just 30 days.  It’s a difficult challenge but there are tons of people who make this goal and some that have been making it for years running.  I’ve participated in NaNoWriMo in the past and I’ve never gotten to that end point sadly.  The furthest I’ve gotten before life has inevitably gotten in the way of hunkering down inside and writing with nothing but continuous cups of tea to keep me going is about halfway.

One year, I will participate and make the goal.  Realistically, I know that this is not that year.  I’m out of the house for 12 hours of every day with how long commuting takes and once I do get home, I need to make dinner, shower etc and it leaves all errands to be handled on weekends.  BUT, I do want to make an effort to write this November and I’ve decided to flex the old writing muscles in the form of blog posts.  NaBloWriMo, if you will.  It’s no secret that I’ve been focusing on my YouTube channel and neglecting my poor blog in the past… year.  But I genuinely enjoy writing and I really do want that to change so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity!

Plus, I’m pretty excited to burn these Currently Writing candles by Canterbury Road Co and I’ll feel like a fake if I use them while I’m not actually writing! My favorite of the three is Writing in the Cafe which is just divine! What’s more romantic than writing by candlelight? I cannot recommend Shannon’s candles enough and if you’re in the market for some bookish or writerly coziness this Autumn, I highly recommend checking out her shop and using my code ‘superspacechick17’ to save 17% on your candle purchase!

I’m neglecting my blog too! I was thinking about taking November off to prepare myself for the Holidays, but now I’ve been incredibly inspired by your post and I’m tempted to actually write more :D

I always want to do Nano and then somehow it sneaks up on me and I never register. I really hope I can commit to it next year.

I have definitely neglected my blog the past two months due to burnout and my class. I’ve been good at keeping up with my Disney/Pixar content but nothing else and I feel terrible even if I don’t believe anyone’s reading it anyway, ha. Definitely will try harder this month.

  3. I have so many Canterbury Roads candles on my Christmas list! I love the idea of blogging for NaNo. Such a great idea for getting into the habit of writing again. Looking forward to your posts!
