Halloween has always been the best excuse to pig out on fun sized candy and chocolate and forget about counting calories. I’ve always been drawn to anything that uses peanut butter and/or chocolate as a main ingredient which will be very clear when you see my choices!
Take 5’s – These are probably my favorite Halloween candies of them all. Take 5’s were invented by geniuses who combined chocolate, peanut butter, caramel and a pretzel into one delicious mega-treat. They’re crunchy and salty and sweet all at once. So delicious!
Reese’s – Reese’s are the classic chocolate/peanut butter combo. They’re kind of like the comfort food of Halloween candies IMO. But they HAVE to the be the individually packaged full sized cups. The small ones do not have nearly enough peanut butter in them for a satisfying peanut butter to chocolate ratio. This is a thing I think about.
Peanut Butter Twix – This is a newer treat that wasn’t around back in the days when I was trick-or-treating but if I were going nowadays, it would be towards the top of my list. The cookie part tastes DELICIOUS and I always eat these by biting off the peanut butter layer first and finishing with the half chocolate coated cookie.
Hershey’s Cookies & Cream Bars – I think I first discovered these delightful candy bars on many Halloweens ago because my family has never been in the habit of buying white chocolate. The crunchy cookie bits really compliment the sweet white chocolate, giving the eater a very convincing cookies and creme taste.
Cadbury Screme Eggs – Cadbury Screme Eggs are actually the best thing to happen to Halloween in YEARS. Cadbury Creme Eggs are my second favorite Easter candy (next to Cadbury mini eggs), and the fact that they decided to release a Halloween version so people like me could enjoy them TWICE a year now is just so overly fantastic in all the ways.
